BBC radio presenter Nicky Campbell has disclosed that his daughter Lilla sustained serious injuries after being struck by an e-bike in a hit-and-run incident in Peckham, south London. The 65-year-old broadcaster, known for hosting ITV's Long Lost Family alongside Davina McCall, detailed the ordeal in a social media post, describing it as a 'long and emotional night'.

Incident Details

Campbell stated that Lilla was hit by an e-bike on the night of the incident, with her sisters present at the scene. He expressed hope that nearby CCTV footage would aid the investigation. 'She is badly injured but now at home,' he wrote, adding that the situation 'could have been so much worse' and that his family had been 'incredibly lucky'.

Hospital Ordeal

The situation escalated at King's College Hospital, where Lilla was being treated. Campbell recounted that a drunk man entered the trauma room and exposed himself to Lilla, her sisters, and a friend. Police officers already at the hospital arrested the man. Campbell praised the police response, stating, 'The police were magnificent. I spoke to them when I arrived at 3.15 and he is now in custody.'
