Nick Knowles Slams Body-Shaming Troll as Fans Show Support
Nick Knowles hits back at body-shaming troll

Television presenter Nick Knowles has delivered a powerful retort to an online troll who targeted him with body-shaming comments, prompting an outpouring of support from his loyal fanbase.

A Cruel Comment and a Swift Clapback

The incident unfolded after the broadcast of a DIY SOS Children in Need special on Thursday, November 13. Knowles, alongside designer Gabrielle Blackman and his team, undertook a monumental challenge to transform the facilities at The Joshua Tree, a charity providing vital support to families affected by childhood cancer.

However, on Saturday, November 15, a user on the social media platform X replied to a photo of Nick from the show with a cruel jibe, writing: “Nick Knowles ate Pudsey!”

The DIY SOS host did not ignore the remark. He issued a furious clapback, revealing a history with the individual. Nick Knowles replied: “I know you - you were trolling my wife when she was ill & we reported you to your employer.” He continued, highlighting the insensitivity of the comment given the episode's charitable cause, asking, “Now you’ve watched a show about building a place for a children’s cancer charity & decided to go for me being heavy. Do you think maybe you should get some counselling about this obsession?”

Fans Rally in Defence of TV Favourite

Followers of the presenter, known for his stints on Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, were quick to condemn the troll and support Nick. One fan stated the comment was “Just uncalled for. People on social media can be so cruel.”

Another supporter chimed in, saying, “I’m sure you thought this was funny but trying to body shame anyone is in very poor taste.” A third person penned a simple yet effective message: “What an unkind and unnecessary comment to make.”

Personal Challenges Behind the Scenes

The online abuse comes during a difficult period for Nick and his family. His wife, Katie, 35, recently required urgent surgery following severe complications from a hysterectomy. The operation was necessary after years of pain stemming from PCOS and endometriosis.

Nick spoke openly about the frightening ordeal, telling The Sun: "It was frightening. You just desperately want your wife to be well and healthy and not in pain, I don’t think anything I ever go through will be a scratch on the surface of what she has been through in the last six months. She has been amazing.”

He detailed the brutal impact of the surgery and the subsequent emergency, revealing that Katie was readmitted to hospital in September when her stitches ruptured, requiring a life-saving operation performed by a team of six surgeons.
