Natalie Wood's legacy lives on through her daughter Natasha Gregson Wagner, who has launched a new fragrance line L’Amour Mēre inspired by the late star. The 54-year-old, who was 11 when Wood died in 1981, has put her 13-year-old daughter Clover front and centre as the face of the campaign.
Natasha and Clover feature together in stunning new photos by Jonathan Ressler, wearing matching black and white dresses with tulle mesh skirts. The resemblance between the mother-daughter duo and Wood is striking, with Natasha noting the line is a way to connect her daughter to her mother.
The fragrance line, first launched in 2016 with a gardenia scent inspired by Wood's signature perfume, now includes three scents: Natalie (gardenia), C-Love (rose), and Lyublyu (meaning 'love' in Russian, inspired by Natasha's grandmother). Natasha explained, 'I've always searched for beauty. I love the idea of bottling a memory.'
Clover, who Natasha shares with husband Barry Watson, has grown more curious about her grandmother as she has aged. She recently watched Wood's 1961 film Splendor in the Grass and is intrigued by her emotional performances. Clover is named after Wood's character in the 1965 film Inside Daisy Clover.
Natasha, who rarely spoke about her mother until launching the fragrance line in 2016, followed by a documentary and memoir, feels a responsibility to share Wood's story and help Clover understand her grandmother. 'I have more of a mission because it's not just about having a famous mom, it's also about survival of grief,' she said.
