Naomi Osaka once again captivated spectators at Wimbledon on Friday with her fashion-forward entrance onto Court 1. The former world number one, facing Australia's Daria Kasatkina, wore a long, white embroidered cloak that drew immediate attention. The 28-year-old has become known for her elaborate pre-match outfits, and this appearance continued that trend.
Osaka's Stunning Outfit Details
The cloak featured a tiered, ruffled skirt made of tulle, cascading to the floor as she walked. Intricate embroidery adorned the lapel, and the open sleeves billowed in the wind, transforming the court into a catwalk. This marks her third distinctive outfit of the Championships, following a kimono-inspired dress on day one and a tiered, ruffled skirt on day three.
Adherence to Wimbledon's Dress Code
Osaka adhered to the All England Club's strict all-white dress code. All England Club chief Sally Bolton confirmed the club's relaxed stance, stating, "We're very relaxed, so long as it meets the all-white dress code. I haven't had any conversations with her about what she wears, but as for any of our athletes coming onto court, all they have to do is follow the all-white dress code. We haven't got any concerns that that will be an issue."
Previous Fashion Statements
Osaka previously wore a "jellyfish-inspired" outfit at the Australian Open, dedicated to her two-year-old daughter Shai, whom she shares with American rapper Cordae. She noted that "Nike let me design this one" as she arrived with a sunhat, veil, and white umbrella. Her Wimbledon ensembles continue to showcase her unique style while respecting tournament regulations.
