Nadiya Bychkova, who was axed from Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year, has revealed she is in talks to return to the show in a choreographic role. The Ukrainian dancer, 35, was one of five professionals dropped after the 2024 series, but has now said discussions are under way for her to create pro numbers for the upcoming season.
Speaking to Hello magazine, Bychkova said: 'Absolutely. It is absolutely [on the cards]. We are talking about, hopefully in the future, me coming and choreographing some of the pro numbers. The team have known for years how passionate I am about creating things and choreographing.' She added that it would be 'beautiful' to see her stories told through dance on the show.
Bychkova also commented on the new presenting lineup, which includes Johannes Radebe, Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe, replacing Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly. 'It’s lovely to see Johannes stepping into such a big role,' she said. 'I think audiences connect with him because he brings warmth, authenticity and joy.'
The dancer confirmed her exit in March, thanking the BBC for nine years on the show. In a statement, she said: 'After nine wonderful years, this part of my journey with Strictly Come Dancing is evolving.' She insisted it was not the end, adding: 'I look forward to being part of the Strictly world for many years to come in ways I am beginning to explore.'
Bychkova was partnered with Chris Robshaw in her final series. The BBC thanked her for her 'incredible contribution', saying she brought 'elegance, artistry and unwavering dedication to the ballroom'.
