Camila Morrone Breaks Silence on DiCaprio Split & Hollywood Upbringing
Morrone Reflects on DiCaprio Romance and Fame

In a candid new interview, model and actress Camila Morrone has made a rare public reflection on her past high-profile relationship with Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, four years after their split. Speaking with The Times, the 28-year-old opened up about navigating public scrutiny and her unique upbringing surrounded by fame.

Growing Up in the Hollywood Spotlight

Morrone, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, explained that a life in the public eye felt normal to her from a young age. "Having grown up in Hollywood, I was around it. I was around celebrities," she said. "It's normal [for people] living in LA to see Brad Pitt at the coffee shop, you know?" She also referenced her long-term proximity to the entertainment industry through her family, specifically her mother's former partner, legendary actor Al Pacino.

"He is technically not my stepfather, but he was my mom's partner for a very long time," Morrone explained, referring to Pacino's decade-long relationship with her mother, Lucila Solá, from 2008 to 2018. This insider perspective gave her an early understanding of the industry's nature. "I knew how ruthless the industry was, and the scrutiny and the spotlight on people in this industry," she continued.

A Four-Year Romance with DiCaprio

Morrone's comments come years after her widely publicised romance with Leonardo DiCaprio, a relationship that drew significant attention due to the actor's pattern of dating much younger women. The pair began dating in 2018, when Morrone was 20 and DiCaprio was 43. Their relationship lasted for four years before concluding in 2022, just two months after Morrone turned 25.

Reports at the time of the split indicated that distance and demanding career schedules were major factors. A source told E! News that their travel commitments played a key role, while another insider told The Sun the split was amicable, with "no bad feelings" and the relationship having reached a "natural conclusion."

Interestingly, Morrone was first introduced to DiCaprio much earlier, in 2008 when she was just 12 years old, through Al Pacino, a longtime friend of the actor. DiCaprio reportedly remained close with her family for years before their romantic relationship began a decade later.

Life After the Split and DiCaprio's Current Path

Since the breakup, Camila Morrone has focused on her acting career, having transitioned from modelling. Her most notable role to date was playing Camila Dunne in the Amazon Prime series Daisy Jones & The Six.

Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio, now 50, is currently in a relationship with 27-year-old Italian model Vittoria Ceretti. The couple reportedly met at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Prior to Morrone, DiCaprio's dating history has famously included a series of relationships with women who were all under the age of 25, including models Gisele Bündchen, Bar Refaeli, and Nina Agdal.

Reflecting on the constant public interest in her personal life, Morrone offered a philosophical take. "When you're an actor people will always find things about your personal life," she said. "Perhaps with projects that will change, but it's something that comes with the territory." Her remarks provide a glimpse into the realities of growing up and loving within the relentless glare of Hollywood fame.
