Morning Live Stars Congratulate Oti Mabuse on Second Baby

Morning Live presenters Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones celebrated a fellow BBC star's baby news just minutes into the show. The duo offered warm congratulations to Strictly Come Dancing favourite Oti Mabuse following her exciting pregnancy announcement.

Oti Mabuse's Baby News

Oti Mabuse revealed days ago that she is expecting her second child with her husband Marius. The couple, who married 12 years ago, welcomed their first child together in 2023. Oti took to Instagram to share the wonderful news, writing: "Plot twist..." She continued: "We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No. 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller. #babynumber2."

Morning Live's Congratulations

The couple have been inundated with messages of support from fans and friends, with the Morning Live team being the latest to pass on their well-wishes. During the BBC programme on Tuesday, June 16, the presenters welcomed Strictly star Michelle Tsiakkas to teach viewers some dance moves from Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse's samba. As they mentioned Strictly and Oti, Gethin turned to Helen and said: "And Oti, some news of Oti this week?" Helen added: "Congratulations to Oti Mabuse, she has shared the news that she's having a second baby, so good luck to you Oti." "Lovely," Gethin added.

Oti's Journey

Oti announced on Christmas Day in 2023 that she had welcomed her first child with Marius, sharing a sweet image of them all in matching Christmas pyjamas. Oti and Marius met in Germany as dance partners before marrying in 2014. She joined Strictly the following year, moving to the UK with Marius, and has since hosted her own ITV breakfast programme and acted as a judge on Dancing with the Stars. She left Strictly in 2022 after lifting the glitterball trophy in 2019 with Bill Bailey. Morning Live airs weekdays from 9.30am on BBC One and iPlayer.
