Molly-Mae Hague has addressed the backlash she received over her outfit at Venezuela Fury’s wedding to Noah Price earlier this month. The 27-year-old former Love Island star attended the lavish ceremony on the Isle of Man with her three-year-old daughter Bambi, who was a bridesmaid.
In a new YouTube vlog, Hague admitted she was 'severely humbled' by comments criticising her black jumpsuit and visible brown roots. 'I got severely humbled in the comments,' she said. 'Which, to be fair I don’t know why I didn’t expect, because the whole time I was saying to myself, if I do go and I haven’t given birth by then, I was like, I don’t care what I look like.'
Hague explained she wanted to honour Bambi’s role as bridesmaid and support her partner Tommy Fury’s family. She noted that she had the jumpsuit tailored but later changed her hair from a bun to a slicked-back style, revealing her roots. 'My hair is a whole different conversation at the minute,' she said. 'It’s grown out so much, to the point where, do I just accept that I might have to go to being a brunette? Surely not.'
The mother-of-one, who is due to give birth any day, said she 'spiralled' over the criticism but was glad she attended. 'It was such a nice day and I fear that Bambi will never ever get over it. I think she genuinely thought she was in a dream.'
Hague questioned the etiquette of wearing black to a wedding, saying she did not know it was unacceptable. 'I know technically it’s more of a funeral colour but I just think, as long as it’s not white and it’s smart.'
