Mollie King: Fainting and hospital visit a real wake-up call
BBC Radio 1 presenter Mollie King has described her recent fainting episode and subsequent hospital visit as a 'real wake-up call'. The 39-year-old, who co-hosts the Matt and Mollie show with Matthew Edmondson, revealed she collapsed onto her bathroom floor after returning home late from work, striking her head in the process.
King, formerly a member of the girl group The Saturdays, shared the incident with her million Instagram followers on Monday. She explained that the fall occurred at 4am and came as a 'huge shock'. However, she expressed gratitude for having her partner, former cricketer Stuart Broad, by her side.
'It's been a real wake-up call that I need to make some time to get my strength back, not just for my own health, but so I can be the best version of myself for my family too,' King wrote. She noted that her first social outing in two weeks was a welcome step towards recovery.
King thanked the team at St George's Hospital in London, calling them 'absolutely incredible', and expressed appreciation for the kindness she received from friends and fans. She confirmed she will return to the airwaves alongside Edmondson on Monday.
