Michelle Dockery, known for her role as Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey, has reportedly given birth to her first child, a son, with husband Jasper Waller-Bridge. The 44-year-old actress is said to have welcomed the baby around four months ago, according to a source close to the couple.
The source described the pair as “thrilled” and “loving being parents,” adding that Dockery is doing well after experiencing “horrid heartache” in the past. Dockery’s pregnancy was announced in September when she debuted her baby bump at the premiere of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale.
Dockery and Waller-Bridge, a producer, met through mutual friends in 2019, four years after the death of her fiancé John Dineen from a rare form of cancer in 2015. They announced their engagement in The Times in 2022 and married in a star-studded ceremony the following year, attended by Dockery’s Downton Abbey co-stars.
The actress recently appeared slimmer at a London theatre event, no longer showing a baby bump. Dockery has been nominated for three consecutive Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. Her next role will be as former British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman in The Queen Of Fashion.
