Christine Bleakley Shrugs Off Daybreak Ratings Crisis with Giant Bouquet

Christine Bleakley, co-host of ITV's struggling breakfast show Daybreak, was seen carrying a giant bouquet of flowers after winning the Cosmopolitan award for Ultimate TV Presenter. The 31-year-old presenter appeared delighted as she struggled to her car with the vibrant array of roses and calla lilies, her shoelace trailing dangerously on the ground.

Once the bouquet was safely in the vehicle, she flashed a smile for waiting photographers before driving away. Her cheerful demeanour contrasted sharply with that of her co-host Adrian Chiles, who was spotted looking glum after the same show.

Adrian, 43, who also presents ITV's football coverage, has not won any such award and the plummeting Daybreak ratings were clearly weighing on his mind. However, he has been announced as the host of a new show, That Sunday Night Show, set to pilot next month, with ITV reportedly seeing him as a successor to Clive James.

A source told The Sun: 'It will be built around Adrian's personality, so it will have humour and be thought-provoking. We see him as a successor to Clive James, they share the same wry approach to life.'

Christine, meanwhile, has described the show's poor ratings as 'teething problems', maintaining a positive attitude despite the crisis.
