Max Ehrich Enters Rehab After Alleged Kidnapping and Forced Drug Use

Actor Max Ehrich, known for his role on The Young and the Restless, has entered rehab for addiction to nitrous oxide, which he claims he was forced to ingest during a kidnapping. The 34-year-old shared the news on Instagram, describing the experience as “traumatizing.”

Ehrich, who was briefly engaged to pop star Demi Lovato in 2020, posted a selfie on Friday with the caption: “On my way to rehab…. I am so sorry you all had to watch me fall from grace.” He warned followers about sharing locations on social media and speaking to strangers, saying: “Being kidnapped was the most traumatizing experience and I am so thankful to be alive.”

His rehab stint follows a domestic incident in Florida earlier this week, where he was arrested after an altercation with his mother, Rhonda. According to a police report, she claimed he pushed her to the ground and kicked her after an argument over her phone. She told police he had been abusing nitrous oxide before the incident.

Rhonda has since defended her son, calling the media narrative “completely fabricated.” In an Instagram post, she stated: “The only villain in this is the fact that my son was kidnapped and forced to ingest a dangerous substance.” She added that he is now in rehab receiving treatment and asked for privacy and prayers.

Ehrich appeared in 120 episodes of The Young and the Restless from 2012 to 2015 and recently starred in the Lifetime holiday movie A Cowboy Christmas Romance (2023).
