Gary Burghoff
Gary Burghoff portrayed Corporal Walter Eugene "Radar" O'Reilly from 1972 to 1979. The 81-year-old actor appeared in both the original film and the television series. His performance earned him six Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, winning in 1977. After M*A*S*H, he appeared on game shows like Match Game and Hollywood Squares but eventually stepped away from the spotlight to combat burnout and focus on his family.
Larry Linville
Larry Linville played the pompous Major Frank Burns for five seasons. He declined a contract extension and left the show. Linville passed away on April 10, 2000, at age 60 in New York City due to pneumonia following complications from cancer surgery. He was married four times.
Wayne Rogers
Wayne Rogers originated the role of Captain "Trapper" John McIntyre but left after three seasons due to dissatisfaction with his character's development.
