Martel Maxwell, best known for co-presenting Homes Under the Hammer, leads a fulfilling family life off-screen. The BBC presenter lives in Dundee, Scotland, with her husband Jamie Parrat and their three sons: Guthrie, Monty, and Chester.

From Law to Television

Originally from Scotland, Martel earned a law degree from the University of Edinburgh and completed a postgraduate diploma at the University of Dundee. However, she soon realized her passion lay in journalism. After various placements and a graduate scheme, she secured a role on The One Show and Lorraine before joining Homes Under the Hammer in 2017.

The show follows properties purchased at auction, which buyers renovate for profit. Martel previously told First Time Buyer Magazine: “They knew I had always had an interest in property and even though I was pregnant I got the presenter’s job. It’s such a great role and I love every second of it.”

Family and Home Life

Martel married her childhood sweetheart Jamie in 2012. The couple lives in a stunning eco-friendly home in Dundee, featuring solar panels, large windows with countryside views, and a modern wooden interior. She often shares glimpses of their home and family on social media.

In a recent post, fans were amazed by a selfie with her son at a football match, calling him her “mini me.” The family enjoys watching sports together, including Scotland’s Six Nations matches.
