Mark Wright has admitted that he denied a recent request by his wife, Michelle Keegan, to host a Halloween party at their home, explaining that he doesn't like the "mess" left behind the following day.
Mark, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, married The Blame actress at a celebrity-packed wedding in Bury St Edmunds in 2015. The couple share a daughter, Palma Elizabeth Wright.
Family Holidays and Halloween Plans
The reality star offered a rare glimpse into how their marriage has changed since welcoming their first child during a chat with Heart FM co-star Olly Murs on their Saturday Breakfast show. Mark opened up about an upcoming family holiday and celebrating Halloween.
Olly revealed he had just returned from a "lovely" family trip to Turkey, the first taken with just him, his wife Amelia Murs, and their two children, Madison and Albert. He admitted the trip had some "tough moments", but it was an "unbelievable week".
Mark said: "And I suppose with these kind of holidays...cos we're going to the same place with Palma. And it's the first time we're going to go away properly for, like, a longer period. And I suppose you have to just accept that you're seeing...you're doing a holiday from their eyes."
He added: "It's like seeing them make memories, rather than...cos like, it's only a few years ago, you're lying on a bed, sunbed, all day."
When the conversation turned to Halloween, and Mark was asked if Michelle enjoys it, he said: "Yeah, loves Halloween. She tried to call in a party at the house. I said no, cos I don't like mess the next day."
Supporting Michelle's ITV Return
Mark has also spoken about supporting Michelle's return to ITV. The former Coronation Street star plays DI Emma Crane in the six-part thriller series The Blame.
The drama follows detectives from Wakestead Police Station during their inquiry into the death of a teenage figure skater. It "dives into secrets, suspicion and systemic corruption - all under the surface of a seemingly quiet town".
"As DI Emma Crane and DI Tom Radley dig deeper into what starts as a tragic death that sends shockwaves through the town of Wakestead, a murder enquiry soon spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups and moral compromise."
Mark told Olly on a separate instalment of their show that he had been helping Michelle practice her lines. He said: "Once right, there was an emotional scene, and I was playing the other emotional character and I started going, '[Puts on crying voice] Well, listen, you can't say it like that!' And she was like, 'What are you doing? You're throwing me!'"
