Married At First Sight Australia bride Lauren Dunn has opened up about the medical emergency that forced her to temporarily leave the experiment. The 32-year-old PR consultant developed a blood clot in her shoulder, requiring emergency surgery and a week of recovery in her hometown of Perth.
Lauren revealed that she woke up to find the whole side of her body numb and purple. She contacted her on-screen husband, Jonathan 'Jono' McCullough, who urged her to see a doctor. After being told to go straight to hospital, Lauren praised Jono for his support, saying he packed her an overnight bag and offered to accompany her.
Speaking to 9Entertainment, Lauren explained that the blood clots between her shoulder and clavicle bone 'could've been there for 20 years' and were not caused by anything specific. She spent her recovery time with her parents away from the drama of the show.
Meanwhile, recent episodes have shown a softer side to groom Timothy Smith, while Sara Mesa continues to face criticism for meeting her ex without telling her husband Tim Calwell. The saga of Tori Adams and Jack Dunkley also continues, with viewers questioning Jack's intentions.
Married At First Sight Australia airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30 pm on E4, with episodes available on All 4.
