Married At First Sight bride Rebecca Zukowski has been spotted out in Melbourne after emotionally lifting the lid on her heartbreaking time in the experiment. The 51-year-old reality star kept things casual as she stepped out solo on Saturday, clutching a glass bottle while walking through a busy street.
Rebecca wore a black singlet top tucked into loose white linen trousers, layering the look with an oversized faded denim shirt. She completed the relaxed outfit with black designer-style sunglasses, gold hoop earrings, a delicate necklace and bracelets. The Melbourne bride also carried a black shoulder bag and wore flat patterned sandals as she made her way along the footpath.
Her outing comes after Rebecca broke down in tears during an emotional interview with Daily Mail, where she admitted she went on MAFS hoping to finally find her happily ever after. 'I've been single for eight years and the timing was right for me,' she said. 'I felt like I was completely ready to be vulnerable, I was open to finding that person.'
Rebecca, who was paired with groom Steve Powell, said she was initially hopeful when she met him at the altar. 'I thought, tall, silver fox, had a kind smile and I felt like we had an instant connection in that moment,' she said. But she claimed their relationship quickly fell apart behind closed doors. 'He friend-zoned me,' Rebecca said. 'When the cameras weren't rolling, he would say to me, "Rebecca, this experiment is too much. I just need my space. I'm just gonna read my book."'
Rebecca also claimed Steve had little interest in getting to know her outside filming. 'He wasn't there for me at all, like zero,' she said. The bride said she was not upset about being rejected, but felt robbed of the full experience. 'I just feel robbed of the experience,' she admitted. 'It is disappointing that my time was wasted.'
Rebecca also revealed the show's aftermath had taken a huge toll on her mental health. 'After the show, I must admit for probably about two months afterwards, I cried for two hours every day,' she said. 'I thought I was stronger than this.' Despite the heartbreak, Rebecca insisted her story is far from over. 'I just wanna find my happier ever after,' she said. 'I'm just a girl who wants a man to love me.'
