Former X Factor contestant Lucie Jones has announced she is expecting her first child with her new boyfriend, George Hersey, just months after her split from her husband was made public. The 34-year-old singer shared the news on Instagram, posting a selfie of herself and George holding a sonogram image, revealing they are expecting a baby girl in July.
In her caption, Jones wrote: 'We’re so excited and beyond happy to tell you we’re having a baby! Nothing comes close to this feeling… we feel like the luckiest people in the world. She’ll be here in July and we cannot wait to meet our little girl.' The post was met with congratulations from celebrity friends, including Amber Davies, Giovanna Fletcher, Claire Sweeney, and Hollywood star Jennifer Garner.
The pregnancy announcement comes after Jones went public with her relationship with George earlier this year. The pair were spotted together at Glastonbury Festival, shortly before she performed her debut gig there. Her new romance emerged after it was revealed she had split from her fellow X Factor star husband, Ethan Boroian, whom she married in 2017. A source said the couple had grown apart and were 'young when they married,' with Jones focusing on her West End career.
Jones, who represented the UK at Eurovision in 2017 and has appeared in several West End shows, previously spoke about her new relationship, saying: 'It wasn’t an easy decision to be together when we knew each other before. We chose to do this together, and it was informed, and it was purposeful to be together.'
