Love Island star Wes Nelson surprised judges on Celebrity X Factor with his rapping skills as part of a group performance with fellow Islanders Eyal Booker, Samira Mighty, and Zara McDermott.
The quartet, known from the 2018 series of ITV2's dating show, performed a rendition of Shawn Mendes' 'There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back' for a panel including Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, and Nicole Scherzinger.
Wes took centre stage to rap, earning praise from judges and viewers. Louis Walsh called it 'really good', while Simon Cowell noted it was a 'good performance' given their reality TV origins.
The group, named The Islanders, aimed to fill a gap in the market as a mixed vocal group. Their performance also impressed a VIP audience including Victoria Monet, JC Chasez, Pete Waterman, and Sinitta.
Since Love Island, Wes reached the Dancing on Ice final, Eyal has modelled and appeared on Celebs Go Dating, Samira has performed in the West End, and Zara has worked on youth political engagement projects.
