Love Is Blind UK has landed on Netflix, and within minutes of the first episode, contestant Sabrina is reduced to tears as she opens up about the death of her grandmother. The show, hosted by Matt and Emma Willis, follows singles who form connections without seeing each other, getting engaged before meeting face-to-face.
Sabrina, a Director of Marketing and Communications, quickly hits it off with Steven, a Gym Owner. However, in a poignant moment, she shares the pain of losing her beloved grandmother, whom she called Gigi. 'She was kind of the heart of my family,' Sabrina says, struggling to hold back tears.
She recalls coming home to an empty house after the funeral, wishing she had someone to comfort her. 'It's moments like that where it would just be nice to have someone to be there and hug you and be like, 'It's going to be okay,'' she adds, wiping away tears.
Sabrina describes herself as a 'hopeless romantic' beneath her independent exterior, expressing her readiness to find her soulmate. Whether Steven will be that person remains to be seen as the series unfolds.
Love Is Blind UK premiered on August 7, with Part 2 following on August 14 and Part 3 on August 21.
