Lorraine Kelly Takes Break from ITV Show for World Cup, Feeling Anxious
Lorraine Kelly Steps Away from ITV Show for World Cup Trip

Lorraine Kelly has revealed she will be missing from her ITV show for a short while, telling her viewers she's 'heading off' and is 'nervous' about her upcoming trip. The 66-year-old broadcaster is jetting off to the United States to support her native Scotland in the World Cup, ahead of their match against Morocco on Friday, June 19.

Josie Gibson to Step In

Josie Gibson will be taking the reins from Lorraine on the ITV show while she is away. Lorraine announced her short break on Wednesday, June 17, and admitted she is feeling 'high anxiety' about the tournament. Her entertainment reporter Vogue Williams gifted her an 'anti-anxiety World Cup kit' to help ease her nerves.

The Anti-Anxiety Kit

The kit included a bottle of alcohol, Scottish flags, a stress ball, and a sweet picture of Lorraine with her granddaughter for a 'serotonin' boost. Lorraine told viewers: 'I'm heading off,' with Vogue adding: 'I've never seen someone so nervous! It's gonna be so much fun!' Lorraine seemed unsure, replying: 'Is it though? Is it gonna be fun?' Vogue reassured her: 'It is! You're going straight after the show, you're gonna get on the flight, you're gonna have a really good time.'

Ruth Langsford to Cover Friday

Lorraine signed off by telling viewers: 'That's all for today. Josie Gibson is hosting tomorrow, see you then!' Josie will host the show on Thursday, while Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford will host on Friday. Ruth confirmed this earlier in the week, saying at the end of Monday's show: 'That's it for today and this week actually, because Loose Women's off because of Ascot. We'll be back in a week's time. I'm going to be back, actually, on Friday. I'm covering Lorraine on Friday. Loose Women [will be] back on Monday at the usual time of 12.30pm. Until then, have a great afternoon. Thanks for your company, goodbye!'
