Lizzie Cundy was given a 'rap on the knuckles' after being turned away from Royal Ascot over her glam cream outfit, despite insisting she has worn less conservative things before.
Lizzie's Outfit Controversy
The 58-year-old star has apologised to those who were offended over the gown she wore to the annual horse racing event. Lizzie decided on a stunning cream midi dress, with various cut-outs. She paired the glam outfit with a Saint Laurent clutch, a large white feather fascinator and matching shoes but she has explained how she got told off for her outfit choice this time around.
"Yes, I did get a rap on the knuckles but actually the dress was way more conservative than things I've worn in the past. It had a polo neck. However, if I have offended anyone then I do apologise," she told the Mail.
Royal Ascot Dress Code
Royal Ascot has one of the strictest dress codes there are, with the most prestigious Royal Enclosure having a long list of requirements for both men and women. For women, dresses or skirts must fall just above the knee or longer, whilst shoulder straps must be at least an inch wide. Any strapless or halternecks are not allowed. Hats are mandatory and trouser suits must be full length and matching colours and fabrics, whilst jumpsuits must also fall below the knee. For men, a black or grey top hat is required alongside full morning dress in black, grey or navy as well as a waistcoat and tie.
Lizzie's Beauty Secrets
Lizzie previously opened up about her ageless beauty and how she achieves her flawless glow. "I need to look fresh. I need to look young. Laughter lines? What laughter lines? Come with me and get a heavenly beautiful glow. Fractora Forma is an advanced non-invasive solution for skin tightening and lifting treatment," she shared. "This treatment utilises bipolar radiofrequency energy to increase collagen and elastin production, while also tightening the skin on both the body and face. The results are amazing, rendering long-lasting effects without downtime or discomfort."
Lizzie's WAG Status
Lizzie is the ex-wife of Spurs and Chelsea star Jason Cundy and has previously explained how she came to be considered the "original WAG" and insisted she's not at all bothered by the description. She said: "Honestly, I've made a living out of being one – so while I know some don't like the term, for me it really did earn me a living. I did a show called WAG's World where I would go around to footballers' wives' homes and look in their drawers and closets and [look at] these wonderful homes, it was a great show."
