Lily Sheen, the 26-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Kate Beckinsale and Michael Sheen, has set the internet abuzz with her striking resemblance to her mother in a series of newly-shared modelling photographs.
A Mirror Image
In the stunning snaps, Lily Sheen wears a sparkling pink and red off-shoulder mini dress, paired with chic black knee-high boots and a quirky red headband. The ensemble, suggesting a professional photoshoot, highlights a likeness to her mother that is nothing short of remarkable. Kate Beckinsale, 52, renowned for her own age-defying beauty, appears to have a virtual double in her daughter.
This isn't the first time the resemblance has been noted. Back in 2023, the Pearl Harbour star openly acknowledged it, admitting, "I do see it. Yeah, I do. Sometimes I'll send her a text saying 'get your own face!'" Beckinsale lovingly added that her daughter is "like a better version" with "these giant eyes" that make her look like a "gorgeous Disney animal."
Following in Famous Footsteps
Lily Sheen is no stranger to the spotlight, having already carved out her own acting career. She made her film debut as a child, appearing in Everybody's Fine in 2009, as well as Underworld: Evolution and Click, both in 2006. More recently, she featured in the 2022 film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, starring Nicholas Cage and Pedro Pascal.
Her parents' story began in the theatre. Kate Beckinsale and Michael Sheen, 56, met in 1995 on a touring production of The Seagull. Lily was born four years later, in 1999. The couple's relationship lasted for seven years before they split in 2002, when Lily was just three years old.
A Lasting Family Bond
Despite their separation, Beckinsale and Sheen have maintained a profoundly amicable relationship for the sake of their daughter. The split was logistically challenging, as they had recently settled in the US. Michael, without a work visa, was forced to return to Britain, while Kate remained overseas with Lily.
Reflecting on the difficult period, Michael shared in a 2020 podcast that it made him "question certain things" about himself. Yet, any past difficulties have given way to a deep and enduring friendship. Kate has publicly stated, "I love Michael, Michael's fantastic... he is one of my absolutely favourite people ever." She added that they "make each other roar with laughter," a sentiment proven by their friendly appearances on each other's social media feeds in recent years.
Both parents have moved on romantically; Michael welcomed a daughter, Lyra, with partner Anna Lundberg in 2019, and Kate was later married to director Len Wiseman for 11 years. Through it all, the foundation of their co-parenting relationship has remained strong, centred on their shared love for Lily Sheen, whose growing career and uncanny likeness to her mother continue to capture public attention.
