Noel Gallagher says he 'grossly underestimated' Oasis reunion tour

Noel Gallagher has revealed that his “legs turned to jelly” during the first show of the Oasis reunion tour in Cardiff, admitting he “grossly underestimated” the scale of the performances. In his first interview since the tour began in July, the guitarist told talkSPORT that he was “completely blown away” by the audience reaction.

“It’s difficult to put it into words, actually. Every night is the crowd’s first night, so every night’s got that same energy,” Noel said. “I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. After about five minutes, I was like, ‘All right, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?’”

The band, which split in 2009 after Noel quit citing an inability to work with brother Liam, reunited last year for the Oasis Live 25 tour. The UK and Ireland leg concluded with two Dublin concerts, and the North American run begins in Toronto on 24 August. Noel praised Liam’s performance, joking his voice sounded like “AI” but adding he was “smashing it” and that he was proud of him.

Meanwhile, authorities are investigating reports that up to 200 people sneaked into Wembley Stadium concerts without tickets, allegedly paying £350 each to use a disabled entrance. A Wembley spokesperson said entering without a ticket is a serious offence and that they will refer evidence to the police if substantiated.
