Lauren Proud of Simon Cowell's Band December 10 Performance

Simon Cowell's partner, Lauren Silverman, issued a heartfelt and proud statement after his band, December 10, delivered an emotional performance at Capital's Summertime Ball. The 66-year-old music mogul has been in a relationship with Silverman since 2013, and the couple has been engaged since December 2021. They share a 12-year-old son, Eric.

Although the pair have not officially tied the knot, Lauren legally changed her last name to Cowell to symbolize the unity of their family. Simon has previously opened up about fatherhood, describing it as a transformative experience. He shared: "I'm a bit of a softie, but I do insist on good manners. But I am very careful with him and social media. He doesn't have a mobile phone. I don't have one either, so that makes it easier and I would never let him loose on an iPad or computer without supervision."

Simon continued: "Life before Eric and life now is totally different. When I got the call I was going to be a father I thought I was too old at 53, but it's amazing. I see life through a different lens. Plus, I get to watch all those great Disney movies all over again."

The couple met in Barbados, and Simon proposed to Lauren on the same beach where they first met, around 10 years prior to starting their relationship. Over the weekend, Lauren took to Instagram to praise Simon and his band December 10, which was formed during Cowell's Netflix series The Next Act in 2025. She wrote: "Proud doesn't even begin to cover it @december10. Watching these boys walk out onto that stage at Wembley yesterday was one of those moments that felt completely surreal. Seeing them absolutely smash it in front of tens of thousands of people, knowing how hard they've worked and how much they deserved that moment, was incredibly emotional for both Simon and me."

She added: "We adore these boys and couldn't be prouder of what they achieved. They did themselves, their families and everyone behind them so proud. A huge thank you to @ashleytaborking @capitalofficial and @global for believing in these seven amazing boys and for giving them this unforgettable opportunity. Also the incredible @cassandragracey and her team at @graceyandcompany your care and dedication to these boys is everything! They and we are so lucky to have you! It was epic from start to finish and a day we will never, ever forget. On a personal note, seeing Simon so full of pride and watching Eric's pure joy as he cheered on his friends from the crowd made it all even more special."
