Lanimer Chairman Thanks Community After Successful Royal Burgh Celebrations
Lanimer Chairman Thanks Community After Royal Burgh Celebrations

Thousands of residents and visitors cheered as Lanark celebrated Lanimer Day 2026. Lanimer Queen Ayda Prentice took centre stage last Thursday at one of the year's most highly anticipated events in the whole of Lanarkshire.

Following the colourful Lanimer Queen's State Procession in the morning, the crowds enjoyed the Crowning of the Lanimer Queen, followed by events in Castlebank Park for all the family, the Lord Cornet's Procession and the Lord Cornet's Equestrian Lanimer Rideout.

Gordon R Gary, chairman of the Lanimer committee, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Lanark community for all the fabulous bunting and house decorations. This truly makes our Royal Burgh shine bright in our week of celebrations. Your support of our festivities is sincerely appreciated."
