Reality TV star and cosmetics mogul Kylie Jenner has publicly revealed she underwent a stem cell therapy procedure to address severe chronic back pain, a condition she says developed after her last pregnancy.
A Medical Journey Shared on Social Media
On Wednesday, the 28-year-old founder of Kylie Cosmetics used her Instagram Stories to document her experience. In a series of snaps, Jenner explained her decision to seek the innovative treatment. "I've been dealing with bad chronic back pain for almost 3 years after my last pregnancy, and nothing I tried seemed to help," she wrote candidly to her millions of followers.
One photo showed Jenner in a hospital bed, while another featured her with bandages on her lower back. She also posted a selfie with Dr. Adeel Khan, the physician who performed the procedure. Further images captured a moment with her best friend, Anastasia 'Stassie' Karanikolaou, and pal Victoria Villarroel in the hallway of Dr. Khan's medical office. Notably, Jenner was seen in black sweatpants, with observers noting her figure appeared slimmer than usual.
Following in Family Footsteps
Jenner credited her older half-sister, Kim Kardashian, for inspiring her to explore this avenue of treatment. "Hearing how much relief Kim got gave me the confidence to look into stem cell therapy," she shared. She expressed gratitude to Dr. Khan and his team at Eterna Health for the care she received.
The treatment in question is not available in the United States, indicating that Jenner, like her sister Kim did in August, traveled to Mexico to receive it. Kim Kardashian underwent a Muse stem cell treatment, which aims to promote cellular renewal in areas like joints and muscles. While some stem cell therapies are FDA-approved in the US for specific blood disorders, most remain experimental and are not broadly authorised.
Jenner added a note of caution to her followers, stating, "Everyone's body is different, but this has been a huge step in my healing. Definitely do your research.. talk to your doctor and medical professionals."
Context of Cosmetic Procedures
The revelation comes shortly after Jenner's close friend Stassie openly discussed having a butt reduction surgery, expressing regret over a previous Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Jenner herself has become more transparent about cosmetic procedures in recent years.
In 2023, she finally admitted to having breast augmentation surgery at age 19 after years of speculation. Earlier this year, she provided specific details about the procedure to a fan on social media, revealing she received 445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle silicone implants from renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher.
Jenner, who shares daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3, with ex-partner Travis Scott, continues to be a figure of immense public interest, with her health and lifestyle choices frequently making headlines. The Daily Mail has reportedly contacted Jenner's representatives for further comment.
