Ben Affleck has denied claims that he matched with Selling Sunset star Emma Hernan on the celebrity dating app Raya. A representative for the actor told PEOPLE magazine that Raya has confirmed Affleck has not been an active member for several years.
The rumours emerged during the latest series of Selling Sunset, which premiered on Netflix on Friday. In a conversation with co-star Chrishell Stause, Hernan alleged that Affleck had contacted her through the app more than once, using their shared Boston connection as an opening line.
Hernan, 31, said Affleck may have asked her to grab coffee a few times, but she did not go. Chrishell joked that Hernan could have foiled the rekindled romance between Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, to which Hernan replied, 'Right? It was right before that, so maybe that wouldn’t have happened.'
Last year, a video of Affleck went viral after a woman named Nivine Jay unmatched him on Raya, thinking he was a catfish. Affleck sent her a selfie video confirming his identity, saying, 'Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It’s me!' Jay later defended Affleck, saying she was not making fun of him.
Affleck, 49, is now engaged to Jennifer Lopez, whom he first dated from 2002 to 2004. The couple, known as Bennifer, called off their first engagement days before the wedding but rekindled their romance in April 2021.
