Easter Gift Reveal Sparks Family Controversy
In a dramatic scene from the latest episode of The Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian made a shocking joke about O.J. Simpson being her biological father, delivered directly in front of her mother Kris Jenner. The controversial moment unfolded during the family's Easter celebration in Palm Springs when Kim Kardashian presented Khloe with an emotionally charged gift - their late father Robert Kardashian's Bible.
The SKIMS founder revealed she had been the anonymous bidder who ultimately acquired the religious text for $80,000 at an auction of O.J. Simpson's belongings. Kim explained that she had initially tried to purchase the Bible outside of the auction, making multiple offers, but was repeatedly denied by the executor of Simpson's estate.
Family Tensions Resurface Over Decades-Old Rumours
As Khloe received the Bible, she expressed frustration about having to bid for what she considered a family heirloom. "What a****** not to just give it to us," Khloe stated, adding "It's proven he's our dad, just give it to us."
Kim responded with a provocative comment that escalated the situation: "Well, it's questionable between which one – between O.J. and dad." This prompted Khloe to joke that "either one" could be her father, and later adding, "Both of my dads – give it to me."
Their mother Kris Jenner was present during the entire exchange but notably remained silent, adding to the tension of the moment. This isn't the first time the family has addressed the long-standing rumours about Kris and O.J. Simpson.
Historical Context and Previous Denials
Back in 2019, Kris Jenner became emotional while denying the affair allegations on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. "They printed a story that I was sleeping with O.J.," she said before labelling the former NFL star a "f***ing piece of s***."
She expressed particular distress that the rumours resurfaced on the 25th anniversary of Nicole Brown's murder, calling the timing "tasteless and disgusting." O.J. Simpson had been charged with Brown's murder in 1994, with Robert Kardashian serving as his defense attorney during the trial that saw Simpson acquitted the following year.
Simpson himself denied the cheating allegations in a 2019 video shared to Twitter, stating he never had "any interest in Kris romantically, sexually" and that Robert had been "a brother" to him.
The Bible at the centre of the controversy revealed additional surprises when Kim examined it closely. She discovered it was actually her father's personal Bible with his name inscribed in gold on the cover, rather than a Bible he had given to Simpson. She also found handwritten notes that she believed belonged to O.J. Simpson himself.
While O.J. Simpson was acquitted during the 1995 murder trial, he was later sentenced to prison for armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008. He was released in 2021 and passed away at age 76 in April 2024 following a battle with prostate cancer.
