Kerry Katona has revealed that lumps on her jaw, which caused her to fear a serious health issue, were the result of an infection requiring three root canal procedures. The former Atomic Kitten star, 43, shared the update in her New! Magazine column this week, saying she has been left in 'agony' after the emergency dental treatment.
Last week, the mother of five admitted she was 'nervous' after discovering the lumps and booking an emergency dentist appointment. In her latest column, she wrote: 'I’ve been in a lot of pain this week – it’s been so tough. The lumps in my jaw I wrote about last week turned out to be an infection, so I had to get three root canal procedures at once.'
Katona, who has previously spoken about her health anxiety, said she has been struggling to maintain a cheerful demeanor while filming Celebs Go Dating. 'I’m filming Celebs Go Dating and having to act cheery when I’m in agony. I just want to get back to being the Kerry everyone wants,' she added, thanking Wish Dental for their care.
The star has been open about her hypochondria, previously fearing she had cancer when doctors found blood in her cervix last year. That scare led her to consider marrying her then-partner Ryan Mahoney to secure guardianship of her daughter DJ. However, she later received the all-clear, with doctors attributing the pain to stress.
