From Page 3 to Jungle Queen: Kelly's Triumphant Return
Kelly Brook, the iconic Nineties model who rose to fame as a Page 3 sensation, has proven that three decades haven't diminished her stunning physique. The 45-year-old star made a spectacular appearance in Wednesday night's I'm A Celebrity jungle shower scene, showcasing the same hourglass figure that made her famous in the 1990s.
Brook, instantly recognisable in her heyday for her size 8 frame and 32E chest, looked phenomenal in a palm print swimsuit with a scooped neckline that perfectly accentuated her curves. She was seen larking around with campmates Shona McGarty and Alex Scott during the shower scene that has become a staple of the hit ITV show.
What many viewers might not know is that Kelly went out of her way to prepare for this moment, having her bikinis carefully screen tested to ensure she'd make maximum impact on television. The tactic clearly paid off, with the model demonstrating that she remains every bit the swimsuit star she was during her modelling peak.
The Simple Secrets Behind Kelly's Timeless Figure
Speaking to Daily Mail about how she maintains her famous curves, Kelly revealed an surprisingly straightforward approach centred around moderation rather than deprivation. As an ambassador for SlimFast, the star has developed a balanced routine that allows her to enjoy life while keeping her figure in check.
Her typical day starts with either a granola bar and coffee if she has time, or grabbing a SlimFast shake when she's in a rush. Lunch typically consists of another diet shake or meal replacement bar, while dinner is where she allows herself to indulge properly.
'I'll come home to a nice cooked meal,' Kelly explained last year. 'My husband is very sweet, he'll always light a little candle and set the table. He's Italian-French so it's all about sitting down and eating together so we do that and a lot of walking.'
The couple maintain an active lifestyle with their dog, enjoying two-hour hikes on weekends rather than sitting at home watching movies. This combination of sensible eating and regular activity forms the foundation of Kelly's approach to wellness.
Body Confidence and Changing Perceptions
Reflecting on how public perceptions of body image have evolved since her modelling days, Kelly shared some fascinating insights. 'I was called curvy a lot in my modelling days when I was just a very typical, normal looking woman,' she mused. 'I was a lot lighter than I am now! I was a trailblazer for "curvy" models at the time because it was all about that skinny, waifish look.'
Despite her confidence, Kelly isn't immune to online trolling about her appearance. She reasons that 'it's a shock for people if they still see me in their heads as that Nineties model.' However, she maintains a healthy perspective: 'I'm really comfortable with who I am and how I look. I'm so glad I don't have any of those body anxieties anymore.'
The model's weight has fluctuated over the years, moving from a size 12 to 16 in 2018 after returning to the UK from LA. She successfully dropped the weight with SlimFast's help and now maintains her current size, though she notes she has to be careful about weight gain as it primarily affects her now-34FF chest.
'I went on a 6km run yesterday and I have to wear these incredible sports bras and lube everything up so there's no chafing!' she told OK! Magazine. 'So I'm just not comfortable being heavier, I'm too much of an active person.'
Pre-Jungle Preparations and Standing Firm Against Pressure
Ahead of her I'm A Celebrity stint, Kelly took an unconventional approach to preparation. Rather than intensifying her fitness regime, she admitted to 'fattening up' with chocolate, roast dinners and a few glasses of wine. She confessed: 'I said I was going to go to the gym and do some big hikes - I haven't done any of that!'
In a revealing moment, Kelly shared that she was recently offered weight loss jabs shortly before entering the jungle but firmly refused them. Speaking on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, she recalled: 'I was offered Mounjaro literally last week by a doctor. Isn't that insane? I said, "What do I need that for?" He said "everyone's on it" and I'm like "Well, I'm not".'
While Kelly isn't completely opposed to cosmetic interventions - admitting to having 'a little Botox because I frown a lot' - she draws the line at weight-loss jabs. 'I love my body, I absolutely love my body,' she declared. 'I did a marathon this year, and I'm 45 years old. My body has got me through so many things, and I just love my curves, my husband loves my curves.'
Kelly appears in the all-star I'm A Celebrity lineup alongside fellow celebrities including Martin Kemp, Lisa Riley, Jack Osbourne, and Alex Scott, proving that at 45, she's still very much in demand and comfortable in her own skin.
