Former glamour model Kelly Brook has described her now-famous jungle shower moment on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as 'brilliant', admitting she was fully aware the cameras were rolling. The 46-year-old, who became the fourth contestant to be voted off the ITV reality show, shared her post-exit reflections in an interview with the Daily Mail.
The 'Morning Espresso' Shower Ritual
Brook revealed that the daily cold shower in the Australian jungle became her favourite part of the day, with campmates dubbing it their 'morning espresso' for its invigorating effect. She specifically appreciated the chilly temperature, quipping that it 'made everything more pert than usual'. Her first such shower was alongside fellow contestant Ruby Wax, with both women conscious of the filming. 'We were aware we were being filmed and we put on a show for the cameras,' Brook confessed.
The model, this year's so-called 'glamour signing' for the series, came thoroughly prepared. She packed five separate swimwear items for her jungle stint, all of which were screen-tested by the show's wardrobe department before she entered camp. This preparation paid off during her first televised shower moment in the creek during the show's first week, where she wore a low-cut palm leaf design swimsuit with her campmates Shona McGarty and Alex Scott.
Reunion and a Cheeky Confession
After her exit, Brook was reunited on the iconic jungle bridge with her husband of three years, Jeremy Parisi, 40. The separation was a significant challenge for the couple, as Brook disclosed they had not spent more than a single day apart in the entire ten years they have been together. 'This was the longest time and it was really difficult. I don't want to spend that much time away from him again,' she stated.
Their reunion at the five-star Marriott hotel in Surfer's Paradise, however, came with a humorous dilemma. The couple discovered their room was sandwiched between that of fellow contestant Vogue Williams and Jeremy's sister. Commenting on the apparently thin walls, Brook laughed and made a cheeky promise: 'I'll drop some ear plugs into both of their rooms tonight, it's the least I can do.'
From Page Three to the Jungle
While Brook rose to fame in the 1990s as a Page Three model and cover star for men's magazines, she was keen to set expectations for ITV viewers. 'I'm not a 20-year-old bikini model anymore,' she told the Mail on Sunday ahead of entering the jungle. 'Life changes and your body changes, and I just hope people are accepting of me and how I look now.'
Despite her storied career in glamour modelling and television presenting, her jungle adventure has provided a new set of memorable moments, with the cold shower standing out. I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
