Kelly Brook has opened up about the moment she called off her wedding to actor Billy Zane just minutes before the ceremony, describing the experience as "horrific." The 45-year-old model and actress, who is set to appear on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, shared the story during a recent appearance on Loose Women.
Brook explained that she and her then-partner were about to board a private jet to Las Vegas for the wedding when she broke down in tears. "The jet was waiting, we were going to Vegas that day, and I was just crying. It was like a movie – it was all very dramatic. I was in a dress; it was just horrific," she recalled. She clarified that she did not technically jilt him at the altar but called off the ceremony while already dressed in her wedding gown.
Reflecting on the relationship, Brook said she felt "really manipulated" and "coerced" into something she wasn't ready for. She admitted she went along as a "people pleaser," adding, "Sometimes you want to stay with the person, but you're not necessarily ready for that kind of commitment." At the time, Brook was 25 and Zane was 42, and she now recognises that the age difference played a role. "They should have known better," she said.
Brook and Zane met on the set of the film Survival Island in 2004 and dated until 2008. Prior to Zane, she was engaged to actor Jason Statham, with whom she split in 2003. Today, Brook is happily married to French model Jeremy Parisi, whom she wed in 2022 after meeting in 2014.
