Kaye Adams Opens Up About BBC Radio Exit and Personal Struggles
Loose Women panellist Kaye Adams has spoken candidly about her desire to "get life back on track" after losing her BBC radio role amidst a misconduct investigation. The 63-year-old presenter was removed from her morning programme, Mornings With, in October and will not be returning to the show.
Investigation Findings and Adams' Response
Reports emerged on Friday indicating that Adams was found culpable of inappropriate behaviour, a claim she has firmly denied. In her defence, Adams suggested that her assertive manner might have been misinterpreted as bullying. Speaking on her How To Be 60 podcast, she addressed the situation for the first time, describing the past five months as "brutal."
"I'm torn between not wanting to appear to ignore things, but I just don’t see the point in saying much at this time," Adams explained. "This is a time to process things, try and get life back on track, try and get my mental health back on track, my eating back on track, my sleeping back on track, and just my life back on track."
Focus on Family and Personal Well-being
Adams emphasised her commitment to her family, including her long-term partner, tennis coach Ian Campbell, with whom she entered a civil partnership in early 2025 for tax reasons after being together since 1995. The couple share two daughters, Charley, 23, and Bonnie, 18.
Reflecting on a recent visit to Edinburgh to see her children, Adams shared, "We just had a lovely day because I mean I haven't been as present for them as they're used to, which has been a real sadness. We went for a walk with the dog and I just listened to them chattering away about all their stuff. That was really nice, just to be with them."
Fighting back tears, she added, "You're the Mum, you're the adult, it's your job to look after them. I do everything I can to look after them, but I am just so proud of… I'm so thankful to them. They're good girls."
BBC's Stance and Future Plans
The BBC has not publicly commented on the specific reasons for Adams' removal. However, a spokesperson for BBC Scotland confirmed that she will not be returning to her role on Mornings With. The current presentation line-up will continue, with Connie McLaughlin hosting from Mondays to Wednesdays and Stephen Jardine presenting on Thursdays and Fridays.
Adams joined BBC Scotland in 2010 and remains a regular panellist on ITV's Loose Women. Her television career also includes appearances on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing in 2022 and Celebrity MasterChef.
As Adams navigates this challenging period, her focus remains on personal recovery and family support, marking a significant shift in her professional and personal life.
