Katy Perry stranded in giant water bottle during Malta stunt

Katy Perry's latest live stunt went awry when she became stranded inside a giant inflatable water bottle during her performance at the Isle of MTV Malta festival. The 41-year-old pop star attempted to crowdsurf inside the 'Katyade' bottle while performing her hit 'I Kissed A Girl', expecting fans to roll her back to the stage. Instead, the crowd sent her drifting further away.

Footage shared online captures Perry inside the inflatable, shouting 'Go back to the stage!' before laughing and exclaiming 'Oh my God.' Eventually, concertgoers turned the bottle around and returned her safely to the stage, allowing her to finish the song.

Singer admits concern

After the show, Perry acknowledged the stunt was more dramatic than usual. 'I basically get in this giant inflatable water bottle, and I roll it into the crowd,' she said in a video shared by the festival. 'And tonight I went kind of far, and I was a little bit worried I was not gonna come back.'

Fans found the moment hilarious online. One user, @asenergeajenh, wrote: 'She always finds herself in some predicament.' Another, Timur, joked: 'Do you ever feel… like a plastic bottle?'

Recent tour and personal life

The mishap came after Perry wrapped up the European leg of her Out of Office Tour on July 25. She is currently dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Last month, Trudeau defended skipping Canada's World Cup opener for his girlfriend, citing 'boyfriend duties.' Perry performed while Canada faced Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Trudeau supporting her from afar.
