Katie Price Delivers Candid Update on Daughter Princess' TV Show

Katie Price has offered a brutally honest assessment of her relationship with daughter Princess Andre, following her unexpected FaceTime cameo on the ITV2 series The Princess Diaries. The 47-year-old former glamour model, who recently married Dubai-based businessman Lee Andrews, set the record straight during a frank discussion on her podcast The Katie Price Show with sister Sophie.

'You Can't Keep Me Away'

Katie Price made her debut appearance on 18-year-old Princess' show via video call, after previously suggesting she had been "banned" from the programme. During the podcast episode, Sophie initiated the conversation by remarking: "You actually made an appearance on FaceTime! How did it feel?"

Detecting sarcasm in her sister's tone, Katie responded: "I love your sarcasm, Soph! Yes I made an appearance on the show, wahey!" She then elaborated on her perspective regarding the show's first episode, which notably lacked her presence.

"Look, it's Princess' show and I think, because of the first show, there was a lot of stick because it was pretty obvious I wasn't in it," Katie explained. Sophie agreed, noting: "I think the first show went down like a tonne of lead!"

Katie concurred, stating emphatically: "Literally, yes. Because whether people love it or not, like it or hate it, I am Princess' mum and you can't keep me away or keep the fact that I am associated to Princess, because I am her mother. And they use my name, I'm not saying 'they', but my name is always used against her show to create headlines."

No Scandal Behind the Scenes

The mother-of-five, who shares Princess and her older brother Junior, 20, with ex-husband Peter Andre, 53, insisted that despite her mixed feelings about the programme, there is no hidden drama explaining her limited involvement.

She told podcast listeners: "Now, I don't understand, there's no scandal, I speak to Princess every day, she lives at mine and Pete's." However, the reality television star did express some regret about missing certain filming opportunities.

Katie admitted she "wished she was there" when Junior and Princess were filmed taking their half-brother Harvey Price out for the day. Harvey suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a rare genetic condition.

"I wish I was there with Harvey on that, because I always do everything with Harvey, and it was nice for Junior and Princess to take Harvey out on his own," Katie shared. "It was the first time they took him out, so when I was watching that bit, I was interested to see how Harvey would behave, and it's weird because where Harvey is so used to me, he's more bantery. So he must have been on the fritz a little bit."

Future Appearances Possible

Katie Price did not rule out further cameos on the series, even suggesting that both she and Princess' father Pete might feature more prominently in future episodes. She hinted at potential separate appearances if the show continues to a third season.

"Look, good for Princess doing her show. I don't care what anyone says, and it's my daughter at the end of the day and I support her, always will," Katie declared. "Now, if she does her third show, I reckon me and Pete might make an appearance, I'm not saying together, but separate, it is her show anyway, but it would be nice for people to see mother and daughter stuff because me and Princess do stuff all the time. Sometimes I just feel like I'm kept out..."

Sophie interjected: "Well, we know you are," prompting Katie to clarify that "in real life, it's not like that," as she spends considerable time with Princess regularly, though the ITV2 programme is primarily filmed at her father's residence.

Moving Forward Positively

Despite expressing some disappointment about aspects of the series, Katie Price emphasized that she remains "at peace with everything" and wants her eldest children to concentrate on their professional endeavours rather than negative speculation about her relationship with ex-husband Pete.

Her comments follow a joint announcement made in February, where Katie and Peter Andre declared that after years of public disputes following their 2009 separation, they have "both legally and personally" committed to avoiding negative remarks about each other moving forward.

Katie's candid podcast revelations provide insight into the complex dynamics of modern blended families in the public eye, while reaffirming her unwavering support for her daughter's television career despite the challenges of navigating such relationships under media scrutiny.
