Katie Price caused disruption at a rugby social event by dancing on tables, interrupting speeches, and shouting 'HMP Dubai' in reference to her husband Lee Andrews, according to a fellow guest. The reality TV star attended Littlehampton Rugby Club's end-of-season dinner as the plus one of a player.
After joining guests at The Arun View Inn, Katie participated in drinking games and consumed shots. A source at the party said she became 'quite drunk and loud,' with some people telling her to leave.
The mother of five allegedly upset attendees when she yelled 'HMP Dubai' during the club president's speech. Katie recently made headlines after her husband Lee Andrews went missing and was later found in Al Awir Central prison in Dubai, but he has since been released. At the time of the rugby dinner, he was still incarcerated.
Guest Recounts Incident
A guest told Sell Us Your Story: 'She started shouting things that didn't make sense, then she was shouting HMP Dubai. It got to the point where people were telling her to shut up. She was the only one shouting. Everyone else was quiet and she would randomly start shouting and the speaker had to stop. She did eventually pipe down.'
Katie was also reportedly 'dancing at the table' before she left. The atmosphere remained lighthearted despite her outbursts, though some were surprised by her interruptions.
Lee Andrews Released from Prison
Just days ago, Lee walked free from Al Awir, nearly a month after he went missing on May 14, prompting Katie to raise the alarm. Lee vanished in May, and Katie initially claimed he had been 'kidnapped' before he resurfaced. She told fans he was in prison in Dubai, where he was allegedly arrested on suspicion of espionage.
It was announced that Lee could be behind bars for several more weeks, but he has since been released. He reportedly needed £140,000 to be set free, but a source said Katie did not pay the fine. Lee celebrated his release by immediately FaceTiming his wife.
A source said: 'He called Kate straight away and she was thrilled – not least because she didn’t pay a penny of the £140,000 fine to get him out. Of course she has heard the discourse surrounding him, and she’s not stupid. She knows the optics aren’t great if she stays with this man. But as any woman who has been love-bombed knows, it’s hard to leave when you’re being treated so well.'
The Sun shared a screengrab of Lee and Katie on FaceTime, with Lee sporting longer darker facial hair, a grin, and a cap. Katie told the outlet after their reunion: 'I’m excited – but trust me, I have questions.'
Katie's Commitment to Lee
Katie later headed to Dubai, though she did not state if she was going to see Lee, instead posting about a beach bar she visited. She reiterated her commitment to her man after claims she had jetted out to tell him it was over. She reposted a photo of them together in Dubai, with a post claiming the two, who married days after meeting, were 'wedding goals.'
Katie liked the snap and shared it with her Facebook followers. She wrote over the top: 'Mr and Mrs. Love my new ring,' suggesting Lee had bought her a new wedding ring. The old one made headlines when it was claimed it was the same ring he used to propose to a previous flame.
The Mirror has contacted Katie's reps for comment about the rugby event.
