Katie Price has issued a stark ultimatum to her husband, Lee Andrews, who remains incarcerated in Dubai's Al Awir prison. Despite earlier reports suggesting his imminent release, the former glamour model is now demanding clarity from her spouse as his legal troubles deepen.
Lee Andrews seeks financial help from wife
Lee Andrews, currently held in Dubai's notorious Al Awir jail, has pleaded with Katie Price to assist in securing his freedom. Initially, it was believed that a four-figure sum would suffice for his release, but it has now emerged that a staggering £140,000 is required to secure his liberty.
Despite Lee's claims of being a millionaire and capable of raising the funds himself, he has turned to his wife for help. However, Katie has refused to dip into her own finances and instead has been asked to launch a GoFundMe campaign, appealing to the public for donations. During a phone call, Katie delivered a blunt response: 'No one will do that for you, Lee, trust me. Everyone hates you.'
Life inside Al Awir prison
While conditions in Al Awir are notoriously harsh, Lee has painted a different picture to his wife. He claims to have formed a friendship with Daniel Kinahan, a high-profile alleged criminal arrested in Dubai after a joint operation between Irish and UAE authorities. Lee told Katie that he has shared meals with Kinahan, describing him as 'all right, actually,' and that they converse in Gaelic to evade prison surveillance.
Katie, who professes her love and trust for Lee, has admitted that their relationship may be in jeopardy. Initially, Lee attributed his arrest to espionage allegations, but it has since been reported as a private civil matter.
Katie demands answers
For the first time, Katie has expressed her need for transparency from Lee. 'I need answers, and if I don't like the answers, I'll be gone,' she told a newspaper. 'I'm 48. I don't need to waste my time. We get along really well and he's so intelligent... As much as I want to listen to the women [his exes] and I'm really open-minded about it, I know what a good woman I am.'
Katie insisted she is 'protected' and 'taking notes,' cautioning fans not to view her as a 'mug.' She explained: 'There is no way he would mess with me, and in a way, I feel protected because I have the nation looking out for me. I'm not a mug, and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. And if the answers I get are not right, that will be it: I'll be done. That's it. And I'll just get on with my life... and not find a man on Instagram and message him.'
Public opinion weighs in
Over the weekend, the ex-glamour model performed at Canterbury Pride and sought the crowd's advice on her marital status. 'I want to hear it from you guys, do I leave Lee or stay with him?' she asked, prompting cheers from the audience.
