Kate Garraway has spoken out after being banished from Celebrity Traitors, admitting she was not upset by her exit. The Good Morning Britain star, 58, was voted out despite being a Faithful, but described the experience as a welcome break from her recent struggles.
“Personally, I just felt genuinely lucky to be involved,” she said. “There’s been so much chat about it, and I never thought that I’d be included, so I was just like a wide-eyed kid in a candy shop for at least three days.”
In her leaving speech, Garraway referenced her late husband Derek Draper and his battle with long Covid. “I’ve had a lot of years of being very serious and very sad and you’ve all allowed me to play the most amazing game, be silly and have fun,” she added.
One standout moment was when Tom Daley gave her a side-eye after she exclaimed she was “flabbergasted” by Paloma Faith’s death. Garraway has since clarified there is no bad blood, saying Daley later messaged her that his “gasted was fully flabbered”.
She also expressed hope to reunite with her co-stars soon. “We got together a couple of weeks ago, some of them I haven't seen because they've been away doing other things. But hopefully we've got a date lined up towards the end to see each other.”
