Kate Garraway cracks teeth after taxi collision

Kate Garraway has suffered a freak accident after colliding with a taxi, resulting in two cracked teeth. The Good Morning Britain anchor shared the grim injury on Instagram, showing her damaged tooth caps and explaining the ordeal she faced before going on air.

In a video posted on social media, Garraway revealed that she had used Fixodent denture fixative to try to secure the caps in place. However, just minutes before broadcasting, the fixative came away, causing one of the broken-off teeth to fall out. She captioned the video: 'Backstage dramas @gmb - & for once it's real! Letting you in on the horror behind the scenes on Monday's show… After an unfortunate collision with a taxi window at the weekend I cracked my two front teeth caps.. of course they then fell out just before going on air.'

Garraway added: 'All I can say is it's hard to appear young and cool in front of a whole new team of trendy producers when you are reduced to glueing your teeth on with denture fixative at three in the morning!!! An emergency trip to dentist means now have a temporary set of fake teeth …but they are soooo massive - bless you @alancarr I now know your challenges!! Just hoping they hold for @gmb tmrw from 6 a.m with @richardmadeleyofficial - glue at the ready!!!'

The post attracted comments from co-stars and followers, including Susanna Reid, who wrote 'Oh my' with a crying face emoji and red heart. Ashley James commented 'OMG Kate!!', while ITV anchor Jonathan Swain said he was standing next to her in the studio and didn't notice a thing. Fans also expressed sympathy, with one writing: 'Thought this was AI!! Hope you get your teeth fixed soon.'

The incident comes after Garraway addressed rumours of a 'new boyfriend' following the death of her husband Derek in 2024. She shared an AI-generated image of herself and a man circulating on social media, jokingly calling it her 'new boyfriend'. However, she clarified it was entirely fake, warning about the dangers of misinformation online.
