Jon Bon Jovi has opened up about becoming a grandfather after his son Jake Bongiovi and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown adopted a baby girl. The 63-year-old rocker described the experience as “crazy, but great. Wonderful” during an appearance on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast.
Bon Jovi revealed he has already met the child and feels an immediate bond. “They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild,” he said. He admitted to frequently requesting updates, adding, “I want to see pictures, like, every other day. I’m that pain in the butt guy already.”
Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, confirmed last month that they had quietly adopted a baby girl over the summer. The Stranger Things actress announced the news on Instagram, writing, “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
Bon Jovi also reflected on the couple’s decision to marry young, noting their maturity. “We blessed it because we get it, you know? They’re sorta mature beyond their years,” he said, adding that the family chose to support the relationship.
Brown has previously spoken about her desire to become a mother, saying on the SmartLess podcast, “Since I was a baby… I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.” She and Bongiovi celebrated their first wedding anniversary this month.
