John Torode hints at 'new chapter' after MasterChef exit

John Torode has appeared to take a cryptic swipe at MasterChef following the announcement of his and Gregg Wallace's replacements. The former judge shared a horoscope on Instagram that spoke of a 'fresh chapter' and 'new opportunities', adding: 'So much to take from this! A new chapter and a wonderful world awaiting.'

The BBC show will return with new hosts Grace Dent and Anna Haugh, replacing Torode and Wallace, who both left under a cloud. An investigation into Wallace's conduct found his behaviour 'falls below the values of the BBC', while Torode faced allegations of using racial language, which he has denied.

A source told The Sun: 'It’s really exciting that two women are judging the show, especially as, historically, it’s been dominated by men.' The new judges are said to have 'brilliant chemistry' and are eager to deliver for fans.

Torode's Instagram post included a horoscope reading: 'The universe is saying to you today a fresh chapter is waiting to unfold in your life. The old is closing, and new opportunities are ready to emerge.' He captioned it: 'A new chapter and a wonderful world awaiting.'
