Comic Relief host Joel Dommett has poked fun at Meghan Markle's past remarks about not knowing Prince Harry before their relationship. The Duchess of Sussex previously claimed she had not researched her husband online, despite his royal status.
Speaking on Davina McCall's Begin Again podcast, Dommett referenced Meghan's comments while discussing his own relationship with wife Hannah. He joked: 'That same way that Meghan Markle didn't know Prince Harry - Oh, what is a Prince?'
Dommett, 40, met Hannah after she saw him on Lorraine Kelly's show and slid into his DMs. He quipped that she claimed not to know who he was, similar to Meghan's assertion about Prince Harry.
Meghan made the comments during a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying: 'I'd never looked up my husband online. I just didn't feel a need to.' The couple married in 2018 and have two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Dommett returns to screens tonight as a presenter for Comic Relief Red Nose Day on BBC One at 7pm.
