Shana Swash, the younger sister of television presenter and former EastEnders star Joe Swash, has announced her second pregnancy with fiancé Nick Jones. The 35-year-old actress revealed she is expecting her second child in December this year.
Pregnancy Announcement
The actress shared the news on Instagram with a black-and-white ultrasound scan photo, featuring her partner Nick and their daughter Kitty. The caption read: "Kitty has accepted a new position as Big Sister. Start date: December 2026." Fans were quick to congratulate the star, with Nick commenting: "Thank you @shana_swash for being the best mum can't wait for the next chapter with 4 of us #bringiton xx."
Shana Swash's EastEnders Role
Shana is best known for playing Demi Miller on the BBC soap opera EastEnders, the on-screen half-sister of her real-life brother Joe's character Mickey Miller. She joined the show at age 14, overlapping with Joe's time on the soap, and appeared from 2004 to 2006. Joe played Mickey from 2003 to 2008, with brief returns in 2011 and 2024 for the show's 50th anniversary. In 2006, Shana and co-star Gerry Cowper were axed by producer John Yorke, who praised them as "enormous assets."
Life After Acting
After leaving EastEnders, Shana took on guest roles in shows like After You've Gone, Doctors, Top Boy, and the film Love Without Walls. She also appeared on All Star Family Fortunes, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW!, Your Face or Mine?, and Loose Women. However, she eventually left showbusiness to launch a coffee stall called Swash and Jones Coffee with her carpenter partner Nick Jones in 2021, inspired by the Covid-19 lockdown. She told the Express: "I work for myself, so I can come and go as I please... That came out of Covid and lockdown, and not having a job, and needing something."
Family Life
Shana welcomed her first child, daughter Kitty Frances-Swash Jones, in December 2023. Her brother Joe is a proud father to four children, plus two step-children. He shares son Harry, 19, with ex-partner Emma Sophocleous, and with wife Stacey Solomon, he has son Rex, seven, and daughters Rose, four, and Belle, three. Joe is also stepfather to Stacey's sons Zachary, 18, and Leighton, 14, living together at their Essex home known as Pickle Cottage.
