Jo Wood, the former wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, has announced she is stepping away from reality television at the age of 67. The star, who appeared on shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity MasterChef, and Celebrity Island, now prefers to focus on new projects and enjoy her rural life in Northamptonshire.
Jo moved to the countryside in 2019, leaving behind her London home in Camden. Despite initial challenges, including a problematic renovation of her off-grid farmhouse, she has no regrets. 'It's so nice to wake up to the sound of the birds instead of police cars,' she said.
Reflecting on her divorce from Ronnie Wood in 2009 after his affair, Jo described the split as 'the best thing that could have happened.' She added, 'I got my freedom back.' One of her proudest achievements was restarting her career at age 53, proving she was not a victim.
Jo now enjoys a calmer existence but still parties in her son Tyrone's converted barn bar. She also indulges in her passion for astronomy, thanks to a telescope gifted by her sister. A self-confessed UFO enthusiast, Jo believes she saw a flying saucer in Brazil in 1996 and hosts a podcast, Alien Nation with Jo Wood, featuring guests like Robbie Williams.
She plans a second series of the podcast and hopes to turn it into a TV show. Jo's grandchildren are also involved in her alien hunt, with one sending her a photo of strange lights in the sky.
