Jill Scott has been flooded with love and support as she shared the heartbreaking loss she suffered while taking on an epic challenge, all in the name of charity.

Last Friday (June 12), the former Lioness said she felt "so overwhelmed" after completing her "incredible" five-day 388-mile Sport Relief cycle and marathon challenge.

Stars including Sir David Beckham, social media star GK Barry, and presenters Ant and Dec rallied behind Jill throughout the gruelling challenge, which saw her travel from London’s Wembley Stadium to Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light over five days.

The former Manchester City midfielder, 39, was cheered on by family, friends, and thousands of supporters as she crossed the finish line on Friday after completing a 28-mile marathon for the final stretch.

It was revealed at the end of the challenge that she had raised £470,677 for Sport Relief, a charity dedicated to helping individuals living tough lives in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

A week on from the mammoth feat getting underway, Jill took to social media to share how she had suffered a devastating loss. Sharing pictures of her grandmother, the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here winner wrote: "Can’t believe it’s been a week since we lost the most amazing person! Feel like I’ve lost my best friend and we are all going to miss you so much! The centre of our family and life won’t be the same again.

"Looking back through videos and you made us all laugh so much everyday - I would be so happy knowing I was driving back to Sunderland to get a brew with you every single time - I know how proud you were of all of us and I know we will continue to make you proud.

"This last week has been the toughest week but I know you were with me every mile and I know you always will be. 'Without me you know none of you would be here'. So true Ganny we love you forever xxx."
