Former TOWIE star Jess Wright appeared on This Morning to share a harrowing update on her four-year-old son Presley, who was rushed to hospital after a bouncy castle accident. Speaking with presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Jess recounted the terrifying moment Presley was catapulted off the inflatable at a birthday party.
The Incident
Jess explained that Presley was at a children's party when the unexpected happened. "He gets on the bouncy castle and somehow got pinged off of it... He flew into the air and landed about three metres from the bouncy castle on the floor. It was horrendous," she said. The noise of the impact was unforgettable. "We heard this noise and everyone in the hall just went [makes gasping sound]. It's not a very big hall either, but you could hear the noise was just so severe."
Breathing Difficulties and Heart Condition
Presley, who has a pre-existing heart condition called bicuspid aortic valve, stopped breathing and began to turn blue. Jess recalled screaming, "He's not breathing, he's not breathing! Breathe, breathe, breathe!" She described the 10 to 15 seconds as feeling like an eternity. "He started to go blue, his face started to go blue. I grabbed him off my husband again, and was just saying, 'Breathe,' and he came to - slowly came to... I was a wreck."
Recovery and Awareness
Fortunately, Presley is now recovering at home and is "absolutely fine," though slightly traumatised. Jess used the platform to warn other parents about the dangers of bouncy castles. "Just be vigilant, like we are as it is. But I suppose, just be aware that it can get quite serious... Just be more aware, stand by more, even though we were, it's one of those things," she advised.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
