Family Rift Revealed After TV Presenter's Marriage Ends
Jeff Brazier, the ITV presenter, and his wife Kate Dwyer have officially ended their marriage, a development that has prompted a startling intervention from his former mother-in-law, Jackiey Budden. The PR executive and television personality, who wed in a 2018 Portuguese ceremony, confirmed their separation this week with Brazier issuing a heartbreaking statement.

Jackiey Budden, the mother of the late Jade Goody, has publicly stated that she always believed the union was doomed to fail. She revealed that the marriage created significant tension within the family, particularly affecting Brazier's relationship with his two sons, Bobby and Freddy.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Budden did not hold back, saying, "They're my grandsons after all…and that's the root of why Jeff and I don't really get on." She elaborated that her attempts to be involved in the boys' upbringing were met with disinterest from Brazier. She speculated, "Maybe he thought that by marrying Kate that it would make things easier but I always felt that it would not work."
A Union That Began on This Morning
The couple's relationship began in 2013 while they were both working on the set of ITV's This Morning. Their romance culminated five years later in a wedding in Portugal, where Brazier's sons from his relationship with Jade Goody served as joint best men, presenting an image of a perfect blended family.
However, sources close to the family suggest this image was fragile. One insider disclosed that the boys, now young adults, always saw Kate as "dad's partner" rather than a maternal figure. "Jeff desperately wanted to portray the perfect family and had always hoped that Kate could fill the void left by Jade Goody – but Bobby and Freddy never truly accepted her as 'stepmum'," the source revealed.
The strain on the relationship became publicly visible when Jeff was spotted without his wedding ring while reporting for Good Morning Britain from Reykjavik.
