Jason Cundy branded 'a disgrace' for wearing Haiti shirt on talkSPORT ahead of Scotland World Cup opener
Jason Cundy called disgrace for Haiti shirt stunt on talkSPORT

Former Scotland star Charlie Adam was left far from impressed after talkSPORT radio wind-up merchant Jason Cundy rocked up to the studio wearing a Haiti shirt. The Dark Blues kick off their first World Cup finals campaign in nearly 30 years tonight when they take on the Caribbean minnows in their first fixture in Group C, with clashes against Morocco and Brazil following in quick succession.

Cundy's Controversial Stunt

Notorious prankster and ex-Chelsea defender Cundy took flak last month for donning the colours of Paris Saint-Germain on air after the Ligue 1 giants defeated Arsenal in the Champions League final and doubled down on his stance with another stunt on the following day's programme. On Saturday, the shock jock hosted the station's World Cup gameday programme wearing Haiti's blue home shirt, claiming that he chose to do so after pulling it out of the bag that contained strips of all the 48 participants at the tournament in North America.

Adam and Pennant React

But 26-time cap Scotland cap Adam wasn't buying it. Speaking on talkSPORT, Adam said: "I thought this was a good radio station. To be fair, I think this is the most we have ever spoke about Scotland on this radio show and for him to produce that, nah, I'm finished with him." Former Liverpool and England winger Jermaine Pennant was also on the show and went one step further, labelling the cheeky Cundy as a 'disgrace'. The one-time Hibs triallist told Cundy: "You're a disgrace. You've gone after Arsenal wearing a PSG shirt, now our neighbours, cousins and the uncle we don't like, now you are putting on a Haiti shirt. I don't believe a word you are saying."

Cundy's Defence

Cundy continued to protest his innocence, adding: "This probably sums up my luck. Of all the shirts I could have pulled out, Argentina, Uruguay, Czech Republic, all of them. It's desperately unlucky. It's not my fault and you should have some sympathy with me."
