Ireland Baldwin, the 19-year-old model and actress, has entered a rehabilitation clinic for treatment of 'emotional trauma'. She has denied claims that she was forced into the facility by her family, stating that the decision was her own.
In a series of tweets, Baldwin explained her reasons for seeking help. 'I checked myself into Soba for two weeks to just get away for a little bit,' she wrote. 'Some emotional trauma and getting the intensive therapy. Someday I'll feel ready to share my story.'
Baldwin, who counts Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner among her close friends, also refuted suggestions that her decision was linked to excessive partying. 'Apparently I'm in rehab for intensive partying soooo I'm just going to lay pretty low for a bit and maybe get some frozen yoghurt,' she tweeted.
The daughter of actors Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, Ireland has pursued a career in modelling and acting. Her most notable film role to date was in the 2013 comedy 'Grudge Match', alongside Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro.
In a further update to fans, she said: 'I needed a chance to work on myself and gather all the tools. I need to overcome everything that I had been through and rid myself of all the pain I locked away in unreachable places.'
